Cloning SSD to HDD

Thread needs solution

When I recently cloned my WD 1TB HDD to a brand-new Samsung EVO 840 1TB SSD, I had no problems whatsoever. However, cloning the SSD to the HDD is a HUGE problem. At first, it looks like everything is going well and, suddenly, the "time remaining" keeps going up and up, up to 16 hours. Once, when I let it run all night (running from the Acronis Rescue Media CD), in the morning the remaining time was 10 hours. I cancelled, and when I looked at the HDD, only one partition showed (instead of 4) on the destination drive. So I tried again (this time running Acronis 15 from within Windows 7 64bit Pro, and the results were identical. By the way, both HDDs are only a few months old and, according to Acronis Drive Monitor, are 100% healthy. If the reason is that cloning a SSD to a HDD is not possible, I am willing to purchase another Samsung Levo 840 drive. I have searched all over, and couldn't find any reports of problems. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated! Thank you!

There is a good chance this is the issue. If true, in order to use Acronis TrueImage and create a replacement spin disk, you will need restore a backup rather than perform a clone.
