Cloud backup problems

I just got a new desktop and the cloud backup has not worked automatically. Each time I did a manual backup, it did a full backup and now I have run out of space.
The manual says if I change the settings to store only one backup, the older versions will be erased. This has not happened and it only tells me I'm out of space.
Is there any possible way to wipe out the older versions and start over?
