Computer freezes during image creation with TI Home 2011

I have used Ghost 9 through 15 on my XP Pro system. I just purchased TI Home 2011 and everytime I start an image creation my system will freeze at about 20% of its progress. I have tried making an image on my two NAS boxes and on a partition on my system. I have installed and uninstalled TI and used the cleanup tool. Nothing I've tried has had any affect on it. There are no error messages, the system just freezes. The system uses a Promise ATA-133 card for my drives which has never been a problem before.

I am about to ship this program back and revert back to Ghost 15. The only reason I switched in the first place was due to crc errors when I would backup to my NAS boxes. I never had a problem creating an image to an internal partition.

The best place to make an image when having trouble like this is to another local HD or partition in the PC which is what I think you have done.

You might have a disk structure problem. The first thing I'd do is run chkdsk X: /r on the partition being imaged. Even better, run it on every partition on the PC. A reboot will likely be required for C. Replace the X in the command with the drive letter of the partition being tested.

I used to use a Promise ATA-133 card on an old AMD system I had with no problems but this wasn't with TI2011.

You don't say if you are having trouble with running TI under Windows or with the TI bootable rescue CD. Try the other one, if you haven't. Running off the TI rescue CD deals with a static disk and takes Windows out of the equation since it is Linux and Windows isn't running. However, problems due to runnng TI under Windows are not frequent.

I did as you suggested, ran chkdsk /r on all the partitions with no errors. Then I booted to the recovery disk and started the image process there. As it did under the Windows environment the process froze at about 1/3 completion. A reboot was require since the entire system froze. I have used Partition Magic, all versions, and Ghost from 9 to 15 without this issue. I am at a loss with this TI Home 2011 product.
