Computer won't shut down.

Thread needs solution

I am running ATIH 2011 under WIN 7-64 bit with a daily backup scheduled and a verification task scheduled for once a month. When I try to turn off the machine, I get this message: "Operations are in progress. Please wait. The machine will be turned off automatically after the operations are complete." The cursor is frozen and nothing works, including alt-ctr-del, windows key, or the power switch. I have to hit the CPU reset button which triggers the hostilities on reboot about improperly shutting down Windows. Someone told me this problem is caused by True Image. Is there a fix?

I have the same problem.
The "operations in progress" stays up for hours after a backup (approx 150 G) and I have to manually turn off the machine.

I've heard Acronis is working on a fix but come on guys, I paid for Acronis twice and it doesn't work.
The retailer won't return opened software but I'd much rather it worked.
Thanks

See above. The problem is described very well by Jim Mackey. In my case it came about by checking a box on the software to prevent the system shutting down and tell the backup is completed. After I unchecked the box it still continued to prevent the system to shut down the only way that I know to resolve the problem is uninstall this software. Unless the designer has a solution to this problem, and that might be?

I can't boot up my Win7 laptop because the "Operations in Progress" message appears. This has gone on for 2 days!! I need to use my laptop. How can I kill TIH 2014 so I can get on with the boot up. This occured because I was shutting down my PC with a major storm coming. HELP!!

You can try pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Del Keys altogether and choose the
Start Task Manager

Under applications (or if necessary, uder Processes)
use the End Task for anything Acronis or TrueImage related.
