Confusion on how to build WINPe Disk
Since 5/2010, I have tried to build WinPe disk using the various KB articles on the Acronis support forum.
I get various error messages. Id there some way someone can review the various KB articles and repost based on the machine type. I am running Windows 7 on either X64or X86 machine.
we have http://forum.acronis.com/forum/12711, http://forum.acronis.com/forum/12049, http://forum.acronis.com/forum/9892 and http://forum.acronis.com/forum/9449 among a few.
The information from KB 9449 misses step 1 in http://forum.acronis.com/forum/9892.
In some KB, the acronismedia.iso is found in c:\ and in my case, (x64) it is found in the winpe_pe\iso folder.
When I run the pebuilder, I don't get an option to build *.wim file.
So I have downloaded the AIK files from Microsoft and the bootable ISO's ffrom cronis. I have installed the Win7 AIK files. I have purchased the plus pack.
Do I have to install the bootable plugins to get everything to work?
thanks

Here's another link you might try.
Click on my signature link below and look at item 8-AB.
I believe you haver already tried8-AC and there might be something in item #4.
Also, you mght want to check the Wilders forum as past procedures may have been the same.

I have found this URL http://community.norton.com/t5/Other-Norton-Products/How-to-build-the-G…
so I have added:
copype.cmd x86 c:\winpe_x86
and
copype.cmd amd64 c:\winpe_x64
then I have added COPY c:\winpe_x86\winpe.wim c:\winpe_x86\ISO\sources\boot.wim and COPY c:\winpe_x64\winpe.wim c:\winpe_x64\ISO\sources\boot.wim.
My next step, I wil follow more steps in KB 9449... More later

In addition to the step above, I forget to say that I added the plus pack and then followed steps (modified by me) by using http://forum.acronis.com/forum/9449.
I was able to boot the CD and test it.
