Consolidation of File Archive by ATI Home 2010: ATI does not always delete the Files

Thread needs solution

I encountered the following problem twice: when consolidating incremental file backup, ATI Home 2010 sometimes (not always) does not delete the consolidated incremental backup files.

The consolidated incremental backup files do not show up anymore in the "Recovery" Window of ATI (this is of course OK). But sometimes they still exist in the Windows 7 File system.

In my particular case, the incremental backup files that have not beeen deleted had been created by Incremental backups at a time, where none of the backuped files had been changed since the previous incremental backup (conceptually, the incremental backup files were "empty"). But this does not justify that they do not get deleted by the consolidation process.

I do not know, if the problem happens also with incremental backup files that conceptually are "not empty".

Hello Robert Eckerlin,

Thank you for your post. I am sorry for the delay but I will do my best to assist you.

Please make sure you are using the latest build of Acronis True Image 2010 Home, the most current one at the moment is 7046. I would also really appreciate if you can provide me with additional information. Is this a scheduled backup with automatic consolidation? Where do you store your backups? Can you kindly create screenshots of your backup task so that we can see all the options that you have selected.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
