Consolidation leaves 2 files TI 2011 build 6942

Thread needs solution

After consolidating my backups for the month of September, I am left with 2 files:
09-08-2011(1).tib 16.1 gb and
09-08-2011(1)2.tib 574 MB

both with todays creation date of the consolidation.

I tried to consolidate again to see what TI would tell me and it says that I only have one backup version. The program then proceeds to the archive wizard and shows me backups that available for possible consolidation.

The one for 9/2011 points to the second file listed above and calls it a full backup ... the other larger file listed above is not mentioned in the wizard display .

Is there a problem here or merely the full broken down into part 1 and 2 ?

During the consolidation process I was given a DISK FULL message and freed some space and clicked retry and the consolidation appeared to finish ok and displayed the "CONSOLIDATION FINISHED" message .. but the Progress Bar display continued to be displayed on the screen ... I had to cancel that dialog to end the consolidation.

Howard,

Based on the symptoms, you have to assume that something went wrong. Try to validate your backup. If it goes through, you should be fine. If not, or if you want to play safe, delete your backup task and recreate a new one.

Remember that disk consolidation requires a lot of space since a file as big as the biggest of the files being consolidated will be created before any existing file is deleted.
