Continue next task if one task fails

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have 2 planned tasks;

- Backup every day to external hd
- Backup every sunday to remote external hd

If the sunday backup gets stuck for some reason (no connection or whatever), Acronis will display an errormessage and will never (automatically) continue with the next tasks.
How can I make sure the next gets executed no mather if another fails?

I tried setting the erroroptions to silence, but it will still halt.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
Actually, if the backup task just fails, the next task should run anyway. According to your description, the program (or the appropriate module) freezes. That's why Acronis scheduler is unable to start the next task. The only way is to fix the issue, i.e. to make the backup to your networked share (I assume you are using a networked share) completely functional.
Without additional information I can’t be certain of the issue. However from what you have told me this may be the possible solution:

When you map a drive, it becomes mapped only under your Windows account. The Acronis product runs its tasks using the system account and so it is sometimes impossible to locate your mapped drive (especially when you are logged off). Please use a full UNC path (e.g. \\server\share\) instead of a mapped drive.

You can also use a pre backup command to mount the mapped drive for an Acronis scheduled task:

  1. Download map.drive.txt;
  2. Follow instructions in Using Batch Files in Acronis True Image.

See if the issue remains. If the issue still persists, please provide us with the log file of the failed operation. Obtain the log file in .txt format and attach to your next post.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
