Continuing "failure to read" errors

Thread needs solution

With my workload at the office, I rarely ever make it home in time to fit within Acronis' tech support hours, so I need to turn to this group (and any Acronis tech folks that see this).

I have run chkdsk several times, and no errors are reported. This is under Win 7 Home Premium. When I try to run chkdsk in a command window, I get an insufficeint privileges message.

I'd really like to run chkdsk from a DOS prompt, before the machine boots into Win 7, but I simply can't remember how to get to a DOS prompt -- my machine won't boot from the Win 7 installation disk or from the Acronis TI recovery disk into anything but Win 7.

Can someone help me remember how to get to a prompt that I can run chkdsk from?

Thanks,
Mark

Well, no sooner did I post the above, then I found a Win7-64 recover disk that allowed me to run chkdsk from a DOS prompt. Drive checking now underway.

Issue appears to be resolved -- chkdsk found a few errors on my primary drive that it didn't see when running under Win7. With these repaired, TI11 completed the first error-free back-up.
