Control panel is just a transparent outlined box

Thread needs solution

When I run True Image 2015 all I get is a transparent outlined box where the control panel should be. Also I have a backup trying to run all the time giving an error "Operation paused - this is not the last volume of the backup archive" and I can't get into the control panel to cancel the scheduled backup of this presumably corrupt backup archive. I'm not sure how to reinstall and if trying to do so might make things worse!

Windows updates released on June 9 have reportedly caused the transparent window problem for some users see the link below:

Thanks Enchantech you're a star. Uninstalled Microsoft Update KB3057839 and all seems back to normal.

Hopefully whoever at Microsoft was responsible for this fiasco will be going back to the drawing board, starting again and writing the update properly.
