Conversion to Win7 X64 with Acronis True Image Home 2010

Thread needs solution

I recently got a new PC with Windows 7 Professional. My old PC died and I had to reload ALL my software--Data was fully backed up. Acronis 2010 was installed on new PC (old was VISTA). However, now when I do a backup, my choices of volumes include the "c" drive as it always did, but now includes something called "system." How does this differ? No explanation available and support no longer available for my current version. I bought 2011, but could never get it to work on VISTA. Still trying to make sense of this issue and can't find a difference between a "system" backup and a backup of my "C" drive.

System and "C" are one in the same. The backup name will be 'System(C)'

Thank you. Couldn't tell by the ACronis application as it showed different sizes for each partition and a very small (300 mb) size for "system."

Harris:

A default Windows 7 installation to a blank hard disk will use two partitions; one that contains the files needed to boot Windows called the "System Reserved Partition" and the main Windows partition. The System Reserved partition does not have a drive letter assigned while the main Windows partition has the drive letter C: assigned.

You need both partitions in your backups. If you ever restore to a new disk you need to restore both partitions.
