Copy Win 7 to another drive and boot from both OS's

Thread needs solution

Win 7 Pro------2 hard drives.
I am trying to copy one OS to another drive, and be able to boot from either.

1. recovered image from C drive (HDD-0) and installed it on E drive (HDD-1).

2. used Win 7 CD to do a repair so boot entry would be added for E drive. (win 7 pro recovered).

3. This method worked with Vista but not with Win 7.

4. system always boots to the C drive OS no mater which one I choose.

5. How can I install an image from one drive to another drive on a different HDD on the
same computer and be able to boot and use both OS's?

Hello William,

I understand your question and will try to give you a clear explanation of the issue.

In order to perform the desired operation you should hide first Windows 7 license before you install the second license using OS Selector (Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 option). Unfortunately Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 doesn’t support Windows 7 and can’t be installed on that operating system, so you won’t be able to use OS Selector for this particular purpose.

We are going to release Acronis Disk Director Suite 11 in near future, unfortunately we don’t know anything about the time frame. Acronis Disk Director Suite 11 will certainly support Windows 7 and using boot manager will allow you to multiboot your system with 2 licenses of Windows 7.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Can you change boot device order in bios setup? It may help since you have two physical disks.
