Corrupt backups when validating

Thread needs solution

Every backup that I run the VALIDATE function on ends with the error message "Operation with partition '0-0' was terminated."

I am running Acronis True Image 2010 on a Windows XP system. The hard drives are configured in a RAID2 configuration.

Hi,
I had the same problem on XP, tried (almost) everything I knew, including uninstall and re-install Acronis True Image 2010 wihtout success.

Somewhere I red about - possible RAM failures may cause this problem.
I've downloaded the freeware utility "Memtest86 v4.10" and let it run. Test #5 (Block move, 80 moves) showed the truth: Memory failures over memory failures in several memory banks.

Installed new memory banks, tested them with Memtest86 and now everything runs well. All new created Acronis True Image 2010 Backups are without validation failures! It took me weeks to come to this success.

Do you get the same error if you boot to the TI CD and try to Validate the image fro there?

Also, are you really using RAID2? That level is not commonly used (if it ever was).

Hi,
1: Yes, I got the exactly the same error, booting (and using) the TI CD, beause due to my bad RAM Modules, my TI backup image files were really corrupt, no matter whether they were written by TI under XP or by TI CD (which seems to be LINUX).

2. No, In do not use RAID.

Regards.
