Could not mount a backup

Thread needs solution

Hello!
I've got some backup .TIB files made by Acronis TI 2011. These files are a chain of incremental backups of my system SSD: backup_(159).tib, backup_(159)2.tib, backup_(159)3.tib and backup_(159)4.tib.
After I updated to Win10, I also upgraded Acronis TI to version 2015.
If I try to mount these files as a disk in Windows 10, I can do it for backup_(159) and backup_(159)2, but for backup_(159)3 and backup_(159)4 I get an error (after choosing drive letter), something like "Could not assign partition letter" (I've got a localized version, this is my translation).
If I choose "restore files" in Acronis TI interface, I can browse backup contents and it seems that backups are all right. Same if I choose "check backup".
What could be the problem with my backups? Any idea what could be done to mount them?
Thanks!

Try browsing via Windows Explorer to the 4 tib files.

Doulble clcik on #4 and see if it opens. Using #4 involoves all the files and opens the backup for viewing/copying
If a window opens, then keep double clicking the path to your files of interest.
Right click and choose copy for any file you wish to copy.

Let us know the results.

If that fails, try the same thing except click on #3 which willl ignore #4.

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, I did what you described. It works fine for me. I figure that the backup is not corrupt.
Still I can't mount it.

When attempting to mount, select only #4.
Before telling it to do the mount, look at what drive letters it is attempting to mount but uncheck some of the partitions not needed.

I have had anti-virus program to prevent mounting and the AV may need tweaking.

OK, that's what I do: with file #4 selected, I right-click it, chose Acronis -> Mount. The backup has only 1 partition, and for that partition I select drive letter X:, and press "Proceed". After that, I get the error message.
Turning off AV program did not help.

At this pointing, I am guessing. Try selecting #3 (in case #4 has an issue) and use a different drive letter.

Also look at Windows Explorer and see if you have any other drives still mounted.

Using different drive letters didn't help.
#3 gives same error, while #2 and base backup mount OK.
No other drives are mounted, exept my phisycal drives.
I'm afraid I'll have to give up here. For some other reasons I decided to actually try to restore that last backup. It restored successfully, so now I'm back to Windows 7 and ATI 2011, and everything now mounts fine. So I guess it's either some uncompatibility between 2011 and 2015, or some Windows 10 problem.
Thanks for trying to help anyway!
