Crash when iPod is connected? Are you kidding me?

Thread needs solution

I was having some serious issues with ATI 2010 crashing this morning and after much searching through the forums, I stumbled upon this:

http://kb.acronis.com/content/9765

It turns out, because I had my iPod classic plugged into my computer (it was charging in the dock), Acronis gets completely screwed up and crashes.

Are you seriously kidding me? If I try to do a backup or change my task settings for backup location (or any number of other functions), Acronis CRASHES? And their solution to the problem is "UNPLUG THE DEVICE"? You've got to be joking...

Further, are we supposed to know that an iPod is a "4k cluster device"??? Why isn't this information more visible and obvious to the user?

Ridiculous. Norton Ghost is looking nice again.

Yes, it would be nice to have the warning about ipods somewhere more prevalent in ATI or its userguide, after all, Ipods are probably much more prevalent than ATI.

Ipods are not known for playing nice with other equipment, even Itunes gets thoroughly p---oed at them from time to time, and like the old days of the early versions of Windows, the solution one often gets for ipod probs is to reboot (called "reset" in Ipod lingo or to erase everyting and start again (called "Restore" in Ipod lingo). Who's kidding with that?

Why are Ipods using such an old fashioned file system? One might reckon that Apple wanted Ipods to be compatile with both Win and Apple OSs, but not too compatible ;)
