CRASH

Thread needs solution

My HP Vista Desktop PC crashed for some unknown reason. I finally got it going again with the 3 System Recovery Disks but they reformatted the Vista partition and I lost my Acronis True Image v8. When I try to reload ATI8, the system will not start. Error message = A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. I can finally get it going by Launching Start UP Repair, but still can not use ATI8 to recover my backup from a Buffalo external hard drive. Only one thing I can think of right now is to try downloading Trial Version 11. Any other "good" suggestions??
Thanks, Joe

FORGET IT, EUREKA, OTHER EXPLANATIONS.
I downloaded the Trial Version 11 and was able to restore the complete backup from the Buffalo external hard drive. What a long struggle, but it finally paid off. Thanks to anyone who might have lost sleep thinking about this problem. I still don't understand why the ver. 8 would not work "after" the crash when it had worked on the same Vista machine "before" the crash. Joe

Good for you Joe. Shoulld you have need to post future question, please be sure to use the correct version identification. Version 11 and version 2011 are NOT the same. The 2011 is the new/current version and version 11 is several years old. Using the wrong version nunber can get you wrong answers.
