Create new backup and ignore previous backups

Thread needs solution

I've been using Acronis for over 10 years now, but this issue is driving me nuts.

I have an NAS drive that I was using for backup but it was too small and kept filling up, so I purchased another for the sole purpose of backing up computers. Before creating a new backup of my Win7 computer drive I left the old backups in place and at first attempted to just edit the previous settings to point to the new drive. However, every time I create a new backup when it gets to the final step the program complains that it can't find the previous version(s).

I don't want the previous versions, I want a brand new backup that has nothing to do with previous versions! I've attempted this several times now by creating new backup sessions and everything else I can do but every time I create another backup the program insists on looking for previous versions.

Using Win7, Acronis TI 2014, nas drive on a network (not using the Acronis NAS thingy, whatever that is).

Not sure I am understanding.

If each backup is a full backup, each is a standalone unit and it does not matter whether they were all created by one task or whether a different task created each backup. Each is restorable no matter how they were created--assuming that each passed their validation and are not corrupt.

My AGH_1 guide contains some of the rules which I practice and avoid pitfalls. The most important on "no edits" and "no consolidstion".

AGH-1. 64640: Do's & Don'ts--Hints to help prevent issues with your TIB

Personally, I would suggest that you use more than one hard drive for storing of your backups. Each disk needs its own set of backup tasks.
The type full backup I suggest is the the "disk image" backup as illustrated in my signature link 2-A below. This type backup assures that you have your entire disk contents included within the backup.

To avoid filling up your disk with backups and to avoid any manual deletion of backups, I would suggest you set you a new task using the example set with example GH11 below. Set your own goal of how many full (recent version chains) backups to keep (store no more than X recent chains) and the program will begin its own revolving deletion of the older backups (creating by this task only) after the X number is reached. Each of these will be restorable standalone full backup but will be all created by this one task, or, you could have an additional single task doing the same thing with a different name and location. Or, even better yet, add a second storage disk with its own individual task for more independence and safety. GH11 is automation avoiding any consolidation but uses automatic deletion for automatic cleanups.

GH11. Full backps only:Create Custom Full Backup Scheme.Keep 4 versions (chains). The 4 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs..

GH13 could be some variety with a different disk and using differential type backup.s
GH13. Full plus X differentials: Create Custom Differential Backup Scheme. 2 Diff, Keep 2 chains. The 2-2 is an example only with user choice for whatever number of chains to be retained best fits the individual needs.

If you truly want each full to be created totally apart from the others, then you will need to create a new backup task for each full created.
Each full should point to its own individual storage folder and each task & tib should have its own unique name with no duplication. This sounds like a lot of extra work with no real gain.

Added Edit:
One often cause of the program getting confused is the manaul deletion of backup files by the user rather than using the program to perform the deletion via automatic cleanup. This very limited manual option of individual files is provided in 2014-2013 and prior but NOT provided in 2015 version.
