creating a bootable rescue disk

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True image 2014.
And I would like to know a simple way of creating a bootable disk with acronis true image on it, which recognizes GPT drives.

Under Tools/Utilities I used Rescue media builder to create an ISO-file.
I tried to use Rufus 2.2 to create a bootable file, while selecting "GPT partion for UEFI" as the partitiontype. However RUFUS does not accept the ISO-file as input. It gives an error message saying this type of ISO is not supported.

Is there another way of creating a bootable USB stick. If I just use the rescue medio builder to create the bootable USB stick (instead off ISO) on a bios based system, the result will be a bootable usb stick that does not recognize GPT drive..I think.

Hi Bart,
If your version of Acronis supports UEFI and GPT disks, the boot media contains what it needs to start and read a system with a UEFI capable BIOS and disks formatted as GPT. You do not need to create boot media any special way or specify any file system or type.

Have no idea what Rufus is. A good free app for burning .iso's is IMGBURN.

.iso can be created within Acronis or by downloading a bootable .iso free from your Acrinis User Acct.

Both windows 7 and 8 will burn .iso's for you without any software at all.
