Creating A Dual Boot System

Currently running True Image 2013, build 6514, on an upgraded Windows 10 system on a 1 TB drive. I have an image of the older Windows 7 prior to performing the upgrade on an external drive.
I'm wondering if it is possible to resize the drive to say two 500 GB partitions, leaving the Windows 10 as is and re-installing the image on the second partition?
How would one go about changing the MBR to accommodate a dual boot.
