C.\Windows\Drive(C) build by Acronis?

Thread needs solution

Hi,
by change I have recognized that I have in my Windows XP folder "C:\Windows" an new Folder called "\Drive(C)". This folder was created about one year ago and contains all files which I have in my standard Windows folder. After Google this problem I found a notice that this should by caused by Acronic True Image Home.
Today I use True Image Home 2011 but by the time this folder was created I uses TIH 2010.

Does anybody know anything about this folder "Drive(C)", if so, what for is it and do I need it still today (occupied a lot of space)
Thanks and kind regards,
Bernd

First of all, make a backup before you make any changes. I have never had a directory like this and I've used ati since version 7.

If the contents mimic your c drive at some past date, then it sounds like a rogue copy of your c: drive contents was made in the root director of that drive. Hopefully, when installing any programs since then, you didn't specify "\Drive(C)" as a location when installing any programs.

You should be able to delete the directory and its subdirectories.

If you did install programs into, or under, that location, uninstall them before deletting the directory and reinstall afterwords.
