Data Recovery

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have True Image 2013 and Plus Pack. I also have Disk Director 11 Home.

I need to recover some program data from a .tib image. Can that be done with any of these programs, please?

I will be grateful for some assistance.

Kind regards,

Frank

What do you want to recover? Just some files/folders, or a system/disk/partition recovery?

You will use True Image for recovery, but depending upon what you want to recover I may recommend that you use the True Image bootable Rescue Media.

Hi Tuttle,

Thank you for responding.

I want to retrieve some data files from my accounts package.

I have downloaded and burnt to disk the bootable Rescue Media. Problem is I don't see how to use that for the purpose. All I have ever done before is to restore the full partition

iIf you have the patience then a step by step guide would help enormously.

Kind regards,

Frank

You have various options:

- You can boot from the ATI2013 bootable Rescue Media and choose a files/folders restore, selecting the files and folders you wish to restore to the new PC.

- If ATI is installed, you could mount the backup and copy files/folders from it to the new drive.

- If ATI is installed, you could double-click the backup to open it in Windows Explorer, then copy files/folders from it to the new drive.

- Within ATI, right-click on the backup you wish to restore from and select "Recover Files".

That gives you four methods, so at least one should suit you. :)

And, here's an Acronis note on Restoring Specific Files and Folders from Disk Backup: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34879

Thank you Tuttle.

As you say, there are several options! I was under the impression that a .tib file was a sort of 'closed book' and did not realize that you could access parts of it. It was the way encryption was described that it seemed beyond reach.

I am grateful for you assistance.

Kind regards,

Frank
