Dead in the Water - Universal Restore 2012 Reboots

Thread needs solution

I am trying to recover a machine after a hard disk and motherboard failure using Universal Restore. When I attempt to restore the image, I get all the way through the process of setting up the restore, and on the screen where I select the destination disk, when I click Next (Or Proceed, or Continue - don't remember since they use these three words in different places for no apparent reason), the machine just reboots. I am unable to recover any logs or any useful information on this, since nothing is kept across reboots.

This happens whether I boot the recovery media from USB Flash Stick or from CD ROM.

This is extremely high visibility because this is my work-at-home machine and I'm not getting any work done. Any help will be appreciated. This has been stopping me for 2 days. Funny, since the Acronis sales guy said "it just works."

Help.

Greetings Eric,
Have you:
- Validated the image you are attempting to restore from?
- Tried copying this .tib image file to another location or different media? ... then attempt the operation again?
-Attempted to use your recovery media on other hardware to ensure its a good working copy?

There is no reason why the computer should reboot when you use the recovery CD.
Did you change the motherboard to the same one as before or is it a new one? Is your new motherboard using UEFI BIOS while your older one was using legacy BIOS by any chance?
