Deinstall and install not possible

Thread needs solution

Hi... new here..... came with a problem....
The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor saw a problem with my home 11. So I ran the deinstall. Obviously that failed, because it's still seen by the Advisor.
So I tried to reinstall it, but that failed too. See the attached file.
I found a kind of help to deinstall it manually, so deleted registry info according to that help from Acronis. Then my vista won't start anymore got a blue screen.

How can I get Acronis True Image Home 11 completely deinstalled now?

Uninstallation of 2009 under Windows 7 also resulted in BSODs on reboot on my computer. I later used the commandline-script from the Acronis Uninstall Utility, which didn't result in BSODs and the installer of 2010 didn't recognize an older version (not that 2010 would work on my computer, it causes BSODs after installation...).
It might also be necessary to take ownership of certain registry keys and give yourself full access. At least on my machine, it was necessary for the installer to finish (to install a product, which is broken by design, anyway, haha).
In my case, the Key was
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components\DA42BC89BF25F5BD0AF18C3B9B1A1EE8
and it's subkeys. Maybe on your installation, the concerning key would be somewhere else below the \Components -tree. Just look for any Acronis entries.

I just downloaded an older build of TI2010 and will try this on my machine later. But first I will be on vacation...

Hello all,

Let me help you.

Gunivortus Goos, most likely the issue was caused by some keys in registry.

Could you please try to boot into Safe Mode and check that you still have the following registry values:

Note that Partmgr and Volsnap values should stay in those registry branches.

Please let me know if the issue still persists.

Thank you.

Thank you Ilya,

I'm not sure anymore, what really fixed it, but I also deleted the entries you mentioned in your post, after I found this solution in another thread. I then was able to install Build 5.055, but after buying the Plus Pack, I needed to try the build 6.053 and this time, it also installed without crashing my computer.

Now I just need to find the time to really use it and also build a PE-CD with the Plus Pack.

Thanks a lot for your help and kind regards!

Hello Suicyco,

I'm really glad that you've managed to fix the issue.

As for the WinPE CD with Acronis Plus Pack, I may suggest you to have a look at this useful tutorial created by our forum member Gary Darsey.

Please reply to this thread if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.
