Deleting Acronis Secure Zone

Thread needs solution

When I purchased Acronis 8.0 some years back I created a secure zone on my Freecom external hard drive. It amounts to 40BG of the 80GB hard drive capacity. I now want to delete the Acronis secure zone and convert all the space for basic backup usage. I have read somewhere that if I uninstall the Acronis True Image program/software, this will automatically delete the secure zone at the same time - is this correct? and would this be easier and faster than reapportioning the space between the two 40GB segments? (I won't really need the Acronis on my computer anyway for the time being).

Will the data stored on the other part of the drive - the non Acronis secure zone - be affected in any way?

As I will be deleting a secure zone on an external drive, are there likely to be any issues/problems when I reboot my computer next time?

You should first create a backup of the disk using a disk and partition backup, then delete the ASZ using ATI.
When doing this, the other partitions will not be endangered. I don't know whether ATI 8 (old version) does reallocate the freed up space, asks you about what to do, or doesn't do anything... If it doesn't do anything, you can fix it with a partition tool.
