Deleting my account

Thread needs solution

Can someone help me delete my account? I cant find anywhere in the 'edit-account' where this is possible.

It is important for me NOT to get any more mails from Acronis, since i will delete the program and find an other product.

When you are viewing this post look to the left and click on My Account then click on Edit along the upper right of the new panel. Scroll down and adjust your Notifications setting. You can also try changing your email address but I suspect it will email you on the new address to confirm the changes. My suggestion is get a Hotmail email address for the occasion and then delete it afterwards. Yes you can definitely delete a Hotmail address. I have done it. Your ISP may also allow you extra addresses which you can create and delete more easily than Hotmail.

Another suggestion is get a Gmail address and then you can set up a Filter to automatically delete any emails that you don't want to read. Gmail is excellent as a front end public address for your email. The spam filter is great with very few false positives, you can declare any sender as spam and you can create Filters to manipulate your incomin emails. It will interface easily to any PC based mail client and Google has many examples on how to set it up to work with these PC clients. I use it with Outlook 2010.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your posting! It's not possible to delete the account, but we can disable it. Please be aware, that you won't be able to register a new one with the disabled email. I would suggest you simply logging out from the second account, cleaning up cookies and logging to the right account. If the issue persists or you have further questions, please contact me in PM.

Thank you,

Indeed. The law now requires it. Think GDPR. Time for Acronis to move into the 21st century.

Michael, my understanding of GDPR is that it does not say that the user has to be able to delete their own data directly, only that there should be a process for getting the data deleted on request, which Acronis does provide by contacting them directly in the way described by Ekaterina above.

Hello Michael,

Acronis is GDPR compliant, you may request to delete your account anytime and Acronis will do so. We're working on adding this functionality to Acronis Account, meanwhile please raise a support ticket for this kind of issues.
