\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopyx

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I've installed TI 2015 for PC and Mac, build 6525. The issue is Windows 7 Professional, Event/System is throwing an Event 55, NTFS error. The suggested solution, running CHKDSK did not resolve the issue.

A recent system change is installation of TI 2015. Installed, but not used for backup/restore at this point. To my knowledge, VSS has not been used in the past except for MS Restore Points. I deleted all restore points and will start anew.

Does anyone know if TI 2015 would create this folder during installation (\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopyx) and whether it could be source of the current issue? Where is it located and how can I view it?

Thanks,

Tim

Hello Timothy,

thank you for your posting!

Most likely you need to run chkdsk on the partitions that don't have an assigned letter.

To do so please open Windows Disk Manager (diskmgmt.msc), right-click the partition(s) without assigned letter (e.g. System Reserved) and assign the partition(s) any letter.

After that run chkdsk DISK:/f/r on this partition and check if it solves the problem.

Thank you.
