Thread needs solution

Trying to figure out how to set up daily differental backups such that on the 7th day, the preceding 6 dailies space is recovered.

I don't seem able to set that up the way I'm familiar with, and my backup disks always runs out of space.

Thanks.

When you perform a FULL plus 6 diff files, how much storage space does the 7 tib filed occupy(1 chain) ?

What is the size of the storage disk used to store the backups?

I'm putting the dailies on one drive (600mb) and the full on another (900mb).

Had no problem when I was able to use veritas backup exec. :-0

And I'd like a way to not have everything go into on huge file, but break it up in to smaller files. Between the two backup drives, I could have 6 differential dailies and four weeklies with ease.

Thanks

Referring to TrueImage Home version.
Referring to the storage disks:
If the file type is FAT32, the tib file will be automatically split into 4G pieces or can be controlled split into smaller pieces.
If the file type is NTFS, the tib file can be controlled split.
HOWEVER, once tib file created, in order to be restorable or usable, all pieces of the split must remain in one folder so all pieces immediately available. TIB FIle cannot be spread across several disks. Also, first file of any task will always be a FULL TYPE backup so any differential file will also begin as the #2 file of a backup and all dif must remain with the full backup which is the base.

Your only choice is to store all differential backups with the base full backup.
