differential backup fails
I am a trial user of TIH 2011. It has been successfully(I think) making backups for ~20 days. This morning I wanted to try a restore to see if it would work. So prior to starting, I wanted to do one last incremental backup. It failed with a "Failed to open data stream" error. Event code 0x000B03E9. I tried again, same result.
Backup is to a network share, \\computername\directoryname
The scheduled backups -seem- to work OK, no error is generated.
When I validate the "failed" backup, it validates successfully, but what exactly is it validating? After the successful validation, it still says the last backup failed.
I can browse the just created tib, no issues.
OS is Win7 Pro 64
Thanks in advance.

After some digging on this forum, I found the answer.
The "winintegrationfix.reg" file fixed it for me. Windows backup launches again.
It would be nice if TI just worked.
I'm done with Acronis.

shroom,
There is a bug in the current version of ATI by which the green/red banners you see in the main UI are not updating correctly. Just ignore them and look at the log under the Help menu.

The LOG says "Failed to open data stream" error. Event code 0x000B03E9. I tried again, same result.
I have the same problem. Is that a bug too...????

Try to reinstall ATI 2011. It is also better to have fixed drive letters for ATI. You can assign fixed drive letters through the disk management console (search and format disk partitions in Windows 7).
