Directing Online backup to one WAN port

Thread needs solution

I have a dual WAN router, one WAN link being unmetered and the other a metered link. I'd like to route the Acronis online back up activity to the unmetered WAN link. I did a search and saw that Acronis online backup uses ports 55556 and 44445, are these the only 2 ports needed for online backup? I setup the router with both TCP and UDP services defined for both of these ports and any activity using these ports is routed to the unmetered link but this doesn't seem to be working as I get an error.

Can anybody help with defining all of the ports used by Acronis online backup?

Hello William and Kirsche!

Thank you for your comments and finding time to report about the issue, I will be glad to assist you!

William, you are correct, these ports are the only ones that our software uses. Unfortunately due to the lack of information it is hard to say what exactly doesn't work, so we will need to take a closer look at the issue. But before we get started I would advise you to check the access to the ports according to this article.

Should the issue persist and the ports are accessible for telnet, please tell us:

  1. Error message you receive
  2. Sequence of steps performed before facing the issue
  3. Wireshark output

Should you  have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
