Disable check for new version?

Thread needs solution

Lately I've been getting a pop-up telling me I don't have the latest ATI. I have the "auto check" turned off, and when I manually check for updates I'm told I'm current. I assume there must be an automatic check for new versions. I know ATI 2015 is out, and I know there is no pressing need for me to get it. How do I turn off this nag?

Right now there are only 2 ways to turn off the nag.
1) uninstall Acronis
2) Hide icons and notifications for Acronis True Image Monitor using Windows (see https://kb.acronis.com/node/48518)

If you think that neither of these is a solution, I agree. Apparently Acronis doesn't care that it's losing customers over this ... bizarre really
If you do a search for this topic on the forum, you will see hundreds of posts from upset customers.

I was actually pretty shocked when I found there was no way to disable this advertising without disabling all status notifications for backups. If you're like me, I don't hide any icons from my notification area so their workaround doesn't actually apply.

Not only is this a complete abuse of the notification feature to spam paying customers with unwanted advertisements, but it's just a scummy thing to do in general. I'm absolutely infuriated at Acronis for this.

I cant stop notifications about an update to version 6688 of TI, Ive updated it to that version and still on every reboot I get the new versio notification.

Then throughout the day I get invite to upgrade to new 2015 version.

Ive turned off check for updates in program
Ive turned off Acronis notifications on the taskbar and still this crap.
C'mon Acronis, every new version of TI has issues and eventuall you tell us it will only be fixed when the newer version comes out.
For goodness sake you gave me 2014 premium upgrade because of my justified whinging about ti 2013.

Its time to move on, TI used to be great software.

I will not modify my hosts file, but Ill block Acronis with my firewall.

Being from Canada, I do not get the 6688 update notification :)
Cruising along with version 6673 here
Of course that doesn't stop me from getting the 2015 stupidity ... about as helpful as the "You've won a free cruise!" phone calls

Of all the suggestions I've seen, the one with the least impact seems to be to disable TrueImageMonitor.exe from internet access. This is done through your firewall, depending on which firewall you are using.

Thats Acronis way of doing business, when theres issues they dont want to know, and worse dont want to fix it. Im moving on, ive got 10 registered Acronis products, and all the later ones are bug ridden. No more for me.

Good luck with your issue, youll need it.

Looks like my reply to BrunoC has been removed. If anyone wants to know what it said, pm me

This sounds like a good idea to me (but maybe Daniel's deleted response highlighted problems with it). Does TrueImageMonitor need internet access for any reasonable function? Would I have to re-enable internet access to install or activate a new version or any such activity?

BTW, and way off-topic, I have " Notify me when new comments are posted" checked, but get no such notification. I assume I'm supposed to get an email. I just verified that this forum has my correct email address. Is there something else I need to do ?

@Patrick
On My Account go to the Edit tab, scroll down to Receive comment follow-up notification e-mails: and confirm that it is set to All comments.

Without changing anything (that I'm aware of) I did get an email notification of your comment, but none of the previous ones. Go figure.

2014 will be the last version of TI I buy. I've upgraded this program twice on 3 computers in the hope that it it would fix problems I was having with varifies and restores but in both expensive upgrade cases it did not. Now this upgrade pop-up every time I boot my computers that I can't turn off. Enough!

This thread is 3 years old and I see no solution for the issue. I bought Acronis True Image, didn't like it, uninstalled it and yet I keep receiving the notifications. I have the notifications for True Image 2016 in my Taskbar settings switched to Off (I'm not even sure why it's there since I installed the program).
