Disapointed in Software

Thread needs solution

I'm having trouble deciding where to start. I upgraded to Acronis True Image Home 2010 less than a month ago and all ready a new release "11" is available. Apperently the decision was made to move away from an intuitive software system to one that requires a program. Is there a User Guide for this software? When I start Acronis True Image Home 2010, I get the following message "Your system is not fully protected. Perform the following operations: Back Up My System | Create Bootable Rescue Media. I have made numerous back ups to my external hard drive to the point where I am rapidly filling the 500 GB drive (my internal drive is only 250 GB). How do I get one backup to replace a previous one? When I attempt to create the bootable rescue media, I get the Error message: The file is corrupted. (0x4000D). I thought I was at least semi-advanced when it comes to computer technology but one look at your Acronis Knowledge base convinced me otherwise. I have failed to create a scheduled backup a number of times. I may have resolved this today. I won't know until the software successfully backs up over the next few days. Please convince me I didn't waiste my money on this software backup system. Richard Lovelady

Hi Richard,
Welcome to the forum.
There is an version 11 which is several years old--before the 2009 & 2010 version. The next version of TrueImage Home most likely will be the 2011 version and if past history means anything, the new releases usually occur in the fall.

As for your schedule problems, you might want to implement this Schedule update at link below. This update was not included in your 2010 install.

As for your Rescue CD problem, try a different CD. Return to your registration page and download the alternate iso file available from there. It has different drivers. You download the file and then burn the image to Cd to create the Rescue Cd.

As your a user manual, click on my signature index link below and click on item 42B; or look along the left margin here and click on the Home Products Guides link. While inside my signature index, look at some of the topics--all of which can help you to become familiar with TrueImage Home.
