Disappearing tib files
Acronis True Image v10.0 build 4,942.
I've been using this product quite happily for years but now suddenly the tib files disappear, can anyone tell me why? Here's the sequence of events:
Boot using the True Image boot media, choose the full version option. Back up my XP OS to a separate internal HDD. True Image reports the backup is a success. The image file is viewable from the backup session. Back up my Linux (Ubuntu) OS to the same location. True Image reports the backup is a success. Both image files are viewable from the backup session.
Boot into XP and both image files are gone. Boot using the True Image boot media again, choose the full version option, and both files are gone.
I've done this twice now with the same result. Why?!
I should add that using TI under XP it works perfectly so I guess it's an issue with the bootable media.
Many thanks.

Do you have an XP or VistaPE media, that would allow you to boot your system without loading your OS?
If you have, then either use the PE version of Explorer or using command line instructions from the command console for XP, check to see if the tib files are on the drive.
This would immediately show if the rescue CD environment is deleting the files or if XP is doing it at system boot.
What is the free/used space for the drive reporting before and after? It might be, that the files isn't being actually deleted, but something is causing it's entry in the MFT to go askew.

I've repeated the process with an older build boot CD (4871) and it works perfectly. It looks like the latest build's ability to create boot media is flawed in my case. Not good Acronis!

I too just had this happen. ALL of my *.tib files just "vanished". Anyone else experiencing this same problem?
Literally, I have done nothing on either the machine to be backed up or the storage location.
And it was not just my current back up files, it was all *.tib files. This is too wierd. Help!

Hello all,
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and for the delay with the response.
Let me assist you with the issue.
Michael, it is a really odd issue and we've never been informed about such problem. Could you please let me know where did you store your .tib archive files?
Additionally, I've sent you a Private Message with a download link to the latest bootable media that is based on an alternate bootloader and it includes a different hardware drivers.
Please let mw know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you.
