Disk backup with bootable usb option

Thread needs solution

I've attempted to perform a complete backup to by "E" usb drive. The check box to make the drive bootable is grayed out. anyone have the same problem or a solution?

I guess you're talking about the Destination section of the Disk Backup window:

Make this media bootable image

I haven't been able to figure out how this is done regardless of backup type or destination.  That is always greyed out.  The help file for version 2012 says that destination must be CD/DVD/BD or USB flash drive formatted as FAT32, but I just tried that, and even FAT32 flash drive would not work.  Note that it says USB "flash" drive, and I wonder if that is the problem in your case.  All of my USB drives are currently formatted as NTFS, so I can't experiment. What format is your drive?

If the USB drive is recognized by Windows as 'fixed' disk, it may be the reason why this option is disabled.
