Display not working with bootable media

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I bought a Crucial 240GB SSD and with it I got Acronis True Image (and now on official website I discovered it's 2014 version).

In my Dell Inspiron 15R I put my first old HDD in the space of the DVD slot and mounted new SSD as primary hd

Installed and started Acronis to clone whole disk to new one but it ask for reboot -> rebooted -> black screen -> after 12 hours of black screen I rebooted and nothing change

I read that it could be useful to try with the bootable media so I produced a USB flash with my installed acronis true image. at reboot I choose option 1 to start it but then I see very badly as if video driver is wrong

How can I solve this? Which bootable media verison should I use?

Thank you in advance

Davide

Davide, you need to ensure that you boot from the Acronis bootable media in the same mode as your Windows OS uses, i.e. if this is a UEFI system in that mode, otherwise if a Legacy / BIOS system then that mode.  When booted correctly, the Acronis media should be able to see your old and new disk drives.

See the ATIH 2014 User Guide: Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) and the whole section for Recovering partitions and disks which has a long list of examples of the different permutations for how the rescue media can be booted - see screen shot below:
