Do not understand the Naming Convention
An acronis user for several yrs... but off and on, sometimes switching to Norton Ghost.
I really do not understand the thinking behind the silly naming convention with Acronis 2013 (and earlier).
We are forced to use what appears to be a childs name for the backup directory. (My backups).
Or at least I see no way to create my own top directory name... and really feel pretty ridiculous even needing to look for such a thing.
Just one tiny bit of thought should have erased that convention from your creators minds.
One of the most basic items that a user is normally allowed is to devise his/hers own naming conventions. What has prompted you to change that? Where is the saving, or enhanced usability. Why is this being done? Please explain what the motive is.
I tell you, if there were any other semi-mature backup tools that worked at the disc level... I would be long gone just over this non-sense with naming.
Not that my leaving acronis would be even noticible... but please... It just seems so utterly ridiculous. I'm just astounded. And all I can think of is WHY?
Is it really hard to allow user to create their names? Is it costly somehow? What?
