Does ATI 11 write to the registry?
I'm thinking about installing Returnil on my machine to protect the system partition (drive C) but it'll require a bit of work to move the more volatile Documents and Settings and Program Files directories onto a D partition, so that only the core Windows OS gets protected.
Before I go down this path, I need to know if ATI (in my case v11) needs to write to the registry each time it performs an archive - or does it store its run history, file names, etc, somewhere else? If it does write to the registry, any changes it makes would be rolled back by Returnil upon a reboot.
If it doesn't write to the registry each time then fine, but if it does write to the registry and the data gets rolled back by Returnil, does anyone know if this would be critical to ATI 11's operation?

Thanks Scott.
I'm only worried about entries that might be written to the registry during a regular archive job.
I'm kinda surprised that Acronis Support didn't get an east "brownie point" with this one since it should be a quick yes/no answer. (Ok, I'm not really that surprised.)
Here's a thought... If support is contracted out, as you believe, maybe they have no idea what the answer is.

Hello Martin Hicks and Scott Hieber,
Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.
Before I go down this path, I need to know if ATI (in my case v11) needs to write to the registry each time it performs an archive - or does it store its run history, file names, etc, somewhere else? If it does write to the registry, any changes it makes would be rolled back by Returnil upon a reboot.

It does not write to the registry when you performing a backup. However, it changes its own keys when you using Try&Decide.
We haven't tested our software with Returnil product, and we cannot guarantee its compatibility. You can download the trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 from here in order to see how it works on your computer.
Thank you.
