Does TI backup resume after shut down and restart?

Thread needs solution

I just upgraded to Win 7 Pro and Acronis TI Home 2010. I have many downloads as XP crashed and I need to put lots of things back on my machine in Win 7. Many downloads require a restart. I'm now running a full TI backup which says it has four days to go. Does the backup automatically resume when I have to restart my machine and the system is running again? Thanks for any help. ec

A normal image/data backup would be aborted and would need to be started over again.

How much data are you backing up? Four days is a long time. Is TI still estimating that long? Are you running a normal image backup or is it something else?

Thanks for responding. I want to do a full backup of the entire C: drive which I have done in the past with several versions of TI. I just installed an upgrade to True Image Home 2010. I always backup on an external drive, e.g., Seagate FreeAgent. I can't believe how long it takes. I had to restart several times today to install some things that were lost when XP crashed.

After my system hibernates, TI 2014 freezes and has to start all over again. It should be very helpfull if TI2014 had some kind of restart point.

Time taken to backup is usually a function of the amount of data. the speed of the drives, and the speed and consistency of the connection. Don't connect via a hub, a port in a monitor, a USB extension cord, etc. Connect the external drive directly to a USB port on the rear of the computer case. USB 3.0 will be much faster than USB 2.0.
