E-mail backup - how long??
I have so far given up on the e-mail backup twice since upgrading to ATIH 2013 (from 2011).
Today it has been running for ~2.5 hours and the (increasing) estimate for completion is a further 12 hours!
My Outlook.pst file is ~600MB and my archive.pst file is ~1.5GB.
Any ideas if this is working correctly or if there's any way to speed it up?

That doesn't sound right at all.
Is Outlook open whilst the backup is going on?
Does Outlook also talk to an Exchange Server?
Have you tried backing the PST file up before opening Outlook, so that Outlook has never run before the backup takes place?
Does compacting the PST file make any difference?
Are you backing up to an internal or external drive and if USB, USB2 or 3?
Have you run chdsk /r on both your drives?

Hi,
- Outlook is not running and had not run since booting the PC.
- There is no Exchange Server.
- See above.
- No. I compacted the PST file the day before. I also ran scanpst on it.
- Internal drive. Same as I used with ATIH 2011.
- Not tried chkdsk but can do...
Further info:
- Win7 x64 on Core2 Quad CPU. ATIH takes 25% continuously.
- It is doing something! The progress bar doubled in length in the next 2 hours and the "Backing up:" field is changing periodically.
- I had to cancel it again (something that definitely does work better on 2013 than 2011!) as I can't leave it running over night.

I have now run chkdsk /r on both the partition holding the pst files and the backup drive. It found nothing but did take hours to run!
Today I started the Outlook backup at 8:50 in the hope it might finish today (and maybe clear up whatever is bothering it). However, it's now 12:00 and it's predicting a further 14 hours 42 minutes until completion. I'll give it 11 hours before I give up once again...

Robad,
Do you have any other background utilities that run at startup? There is an HP utility that has been found to cause problems, but I think that is only with new HP PC's running Windows 8.
If you have InCd or Drag2Disk installed, try disablign them as well, they are known to cause problems with imaging. My only other suggestion is if you are still within your 30 day support time, make an Acronis System report and raise a support ticket.

Thanks. Don't think I have any of those. However, I do have Google Calendar Sync which I have now quit.
Unfortunately ATIH 2012 hasn't been registered on the support site (I assumed this was automatic when downloading) and I can't get into Outlook to find my serial number... Time remaining now: 6 hours and 52 minutes, and falling relatively quickly :-)
Task completed at 16:26 - that's 7 hours 36 minutes! Backup file is 1.2GB. It will be interesting to see how long the next one takes.
However, the Outlook backup doesn't appear in "Explore all backups" (whereas the partition backup done immediately it finished does).
