I have not been able to get the E-Mail Notifications working in Acronis True Image Home 2015 build 6525. I am running on an up-to-date Windows 7 x64 PC. Wireshark shows that TIH requests a DNS from my router and receives a valid IP. I can Ping that IP address successfully. Wireshark shows a TCP conversation between TIH and the email server. TIH sends an SSLv3 "Client Hello" including a "Cipher Suites" list. But the conversation always ends with a message: "SSLv3 Record Layer: Alert (Level: Fatal, Description: Handshake Failure) Description: Handshake Failure (40)"

Unfortunately I am an unsophisticated user of Wireshark and I do not understand most of the packet status information displayed. The error is clear but the rest is pretty obscure to me.

I have checked the TIH email settings carefully against those I am using on my PC, Android, etc. and they match. My E-Mail provider requires SSL and normal password authentication. I have tried TIH with proper SMTP Authentication, No Authentication, and with Incoming Server Login, with and without SSL. None work. I have disabled all Firewalls and retried with the same results.

I'm sure confused. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had the same problem connecting to the yahoo email server. Apparently they no longer support SSLV3. I changed the configuration to use TLS on port 587 and that worked.
