Echo Workstation to B&R 10

Thread needs solution

I ran Echo workstation with the RC version of Windows 7. But it seems not compatible with the final build Windows 7. So, it stops working after Win7 install. My maintenance period goes from Apr 29, 2009 to Apr 30, 2010.

So, my question are:
1. Can I download and run B&R 10 instead given the license agreement?
2. Would B&R 10 be able to recover the data that i backed up using echo workstation?

I understand your question and will try to give you a clear explanation on how to proceed further to get free upgrade. Here is step-by-step instruction to receive free upgrade to Acronis Backup & Recovery 10:

  1. Log in to your account;

  2. Make sure all Acronis True Image Echo Serial Numbers are registered under your account;

  3. Switch to Registered Products & Support in the upper left-hand corner of the page;

  4. Click on the Upgrades tab:

  5. Click on the product name. A pop-up window will appear:

    • If you have a valid Acronis Advantage Standard/Premier support program, you will see the "Get free upgrade" button. Press it and Upgrade Serial Numbers will get automatically registered under your account and will also be sent to your mailbox.

    • If you have a valid AMPS support license, you will be able to get as many free Upgrade Serial Numbers as your AMPS license covers.

    • If you have purchased renewal of AMPS or Acronis Advantage support program then you can get Upgrade Serial Numbers by entering the purchase confirmation information:

      • Order ID - depending on the way you purchased your product you should enter either Order ID or Invoice ID or License Certificate Number or Reference Number

      • Billing Email - E-mail Address you used to place the purchase order.

    • If you do not have valid support programs, you can always purchase Upgrade licenses in Acronis Online Store:

Regarding your second question. 

Using Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Workstation you will be able to recover images created with Acronis True Image Echo Workstation. Check the following KB article for more details.

Don't waste your time with B&R10 right now; it's very buggy. I have reverted back to my reliable Echo Workstation Build 8206 with Win7 Pro RTM. I had to rename the executable to "TI.exe" but after that it seems to be working properly with full functionality. I have been able to perform both scheduled and manual backups / restorations of both partitions and data folders. It also mounts disk images properly. I will stick with this until I am convinced Acronis have all the problems fixed.
