Edit Daily Backup Names

Thread needs solution

I have ATIH 12 set to back up 3 separate partitions daily. I have also set the option to do a "single version" rather than an incremental or differential scheme. This selection is supposed to delete the receding day's partition backup and replace it with the new version.

This arrangement has been running as designed for several weeks now and seems OK. The only issue for me is that I cannot seem to locate the setting that allows me to edit the name of each day's backup. From time to time I get variations on "backup1" "backup(1)2," "backup(eithgnn37686...)," etc.

Rather than deleting any of my current schemes which are by now "tuned" to my satisfaction, I am looking for a method to change the backup name to something simple and easy to work with. Simple request, but I don't seem able to accomplish it.

While editing a task is a desirable feature and TrueImage does allow editing, my experience with editing is that the results are usually unpredictable. My experience has been that it is better not to edit a task but to create a new task pointing to a new empty destination storage folder or sub-folder. I have found I get better results by NOT mixing several backups into one single storage folder.

The location where the actual name of the backup file is created is when choosing the destination of the backup as shown by figures 6, 7, & especially #8 inside this link.

My suggestion would be to stop using the old task and start a new task pointing to a new empty sub-folder..
