EFS protected files can not be backup?

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I use TrueImage since a long time but recently protected some of my files using EFS (not TrueCrypt!). I never tried this with an earlier version of ATIH but the 2011 version can not backup any of these files. I enabled the option to store encrypted files unencrypted in the archive. If I disable this option, the backup works, but of course with a lot more space as encrypted files can not be compressed very good.

Can someone confirm this?

For many encrypted drives TI can only use sector by sector imaging, if you want compressed imaging then the drive has to be unencrypted.

Unless anyone else knows otherwise.

Thanks for the answer.
I tried to explain that not the drive is encrypted but the Microsoft EFS encryption is used and that only a few files are encrypted. The backup is a file based backup.
In addition the option given by ATIH to store these encrypted files unencrypted implies clearly, that it is supposed to be supported (see http://kb.acronis.com/content/13467).
This is a feature that just seem to not work. I never tried this with the 2010, but maybe someone still does and can confirm that it is at least working with the older version. I might go back then, but only if it is worth the hassle.

Ah I see I misunderstood.
