Email backup in standard user accoung

Thread needs solution

Hi
I am trying to back up my email via the email option in tih2012. I installed tih2012 as all user but when i try to back up email from a standard user account it tells me that it is logged in as a different user and that I can select a different account in settings. I cannot find this option. Can anyone help me to find the saetting that will allow me to backup email from a standard user account when logged in to tih2012 as an admin acoount?

Many thanks

Rob

Robert,

Is your Admin account a standard account with Admin permissions or the Administrator account - they are different and Windows 7 disables the Administrator account by default.

If you like most people are using a user account with Admin permissions then it is quite likely that Outlook or Windows Mail will not allow other users PST files to be backed up if that user is not logged onto Windows.

I don't know if this will work, but you could try running 2012 with elevated permissions (right click the TIH exe file and select run as administrator), but I think Windows will still block it. Making a partition or disk image that contains the PST files will work as normal.

I use a standard account. Email backup doesn't work for me either. Although, Robert Duley, the windows credential setting is found above the tick box email selection bit and also at the end of the email backup settings. The KB article, 15198: Acronis True Image Home 2011: E-mail Backup Requires Administrator Rights, says it's fixed, but it isn't. Will it be fixed, or is it just me? In the mean time I will have to use another backup method or change my account to an administrator one.

I am trying four times now to do email backup (Outlook) and I dont have that much email to back up. I use trial version of 2012. It stops at 95% and its happening again. Last night it ran many hours and I cancelled it.

Judy,

Make sure you haven't opened Outlook before trying to back it up.
