Hello Brian,
Please verify that you are using correct Fastmail SMTP settings. See https://www.fastmail.com/help/technical/servernamesandports.html, section "SMTP".
Submit a ticket if you will need further assistance. If it will be discovered that the issue is in Acronis application, support fee will be refunded.
Regards,
Slava

I know how to set up the email. I am using port 465 and SSL. The same parameters work perfectly fine in TIH 2010 which I have been using successfully for years. Many people on various forums, including yours , are coma\plaining about this bug. Someone else started this post!
It is a bug! I have no intention of paying for support for a clear bug that multiple people have reported. Shame on your support once again. I guess you dont care about all the negative reviews you get. Any you keep spamming me to upgrade. No! and Hell No!

Brian, some of these email notifications issues are caused by security changes that are outside of the control of Acronis or other application vendors.
Please see the attached PDF document that I put together after hitting this problem with Google mail when they introduced changes which prevent "less secure applications" from using their mail servers.
It is entirely possible that other mail providers have followed suite with Google and introduced similar security controls that recognise popular email programs but classify other applications as being less secure and impose additional requirements to enable them to work.

So I will be clear. The settings work with TIH 2010. They do not work with TIH 2015. Same settings. Same email provider. They do not impose those restrictions. What is different is a new version of TIH!!!

Brian, I cannot answer your question and can only suggest that you use the Feedback tool within the application to ask this directly of the Acronis developers quoting this forum post. I would also suggest sending a PM to Slava and make your point though he should be receiving notifications for these posts.
For myself, to expand on my experience with Gmail - I had an older Gmail account that I was able to use without any issue in ATIH 2009 through 2016. Then in response to so many reports of issues, I created a new Gmail account and immediately hit the exact same problem with notifications. The only difference was how my email account was handled by Gmail - the settings in ATIH 2009 to 2016 were identical in terms of servers, ports etc with the single exception of a different email address and password. Once I set the new account to use the Gmail 'less secure application' option all worked again!
If you are using exactly the same email account credentials in both ATIH 2010 and 2015 then my experience with Gmail does not apply, so that leaves you with either a difference in how ATIH 2015 handles notifications, as you feel, or else how your email service sees ATIH 2015 differently to 2010? It is all speculation from my side without access to the technical workings under the covers that only the developers and Acronis Support people have access to. I suppose if you were really keen you could use Wireshark or a similar IP trace tool to look at the actual exchange with the servers and Acronis.
