Email server error

Manage quite a few customers by installing on their PC's TIH all the way from version 2013 to 2018. In order to help them, I get the backup result (notification) emailed to me from their TIH via either an Outlook or Gmail TLS smtp to my email address.

Only recently, one customer with TIH 2015 is unable to send the notification and comes up with an "email server error". Happens when using both Gmail or Outlook smtp so I'm pretty sure the problem exists in TIH or elsewhere locally.

Please note, all of my other twenty something customers have NO problem with email notifications so smtp servers are ok.

Customer also has Norton IS installed which I've disabled both Autoprotect and Firewall, still no success. Making a second test backup scheme also doesn't work. Could TIH 2015 have a corrupted XML somewhere that I could delete/edit to fix?

Other suggestions obviously welcome!

Richard, if this email notification issue only exists on one ATI 2015 customer system and this is configured in the same way as for all your other working systems, then the only options that I can suggest are as follows:

  1. Try a Repair install of ATI 2015 on this computer.  This is where you reinstall ATI 2015 over the top of the existing application without uninstalling first.  This may correct any corruption issues if present for the ATI application, registry entries etc.
     
  2. Do a Clean install of ATI 2015, where you would uninstall ATI via the Control Panel normally, then run the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link in my signature) followed by rebooting, then reinstalling again.
    Note: Doing this will lose your backup task configuration & history.  You can save the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder (which holds the task configuration data files) and restore this back before reinstalling ATI.
