Endless reboots requested.

Thread needs solution

I bought a ADATA SP550 ssd and got the software belonging to it. I try to clone from laptops original HD inside, and new one on USB adapter. I try cloning. It always ends with message reboot requested. After reboot it does nothing. repeated that now 7 times. what to try next?

Hannu, welcome to these user forums.

Please see KB document: 2931: Cloning Laptop Hard Disk which states the rules that you should observe when attempting to clone a laptop drive, and includes a video tutorial of the process involved.

You should always perform cloning using the Acronis bootable Rescue Media that can be created within the application using the Rescue Media Builder tool provided. (see link in above KB document about the media).

Further, the rescue media must be booted in the same mode as your Windows OS uses, i.e. if Windows boots using the UEFI bootloader, then the media must do the same.  You should not attempt to clone from within Windows (even though Acronis will allow you to choose that option!).

See webpage: Check if your PC uses UEFI or BIOS for help in checking the boot mode.
