Entire disk shows as unallocated after setting a different partition as active and rebooting

Thread needs solution

I have TI 2013. and DD 2011.

My old drive was making noises and had some bad sectors so I decided to clone it. I cloned the old 1TB drive to a new 3TB drive.

I have a dul-boot configuration and I was using OSS.

For some reason after the clone operation, OSS was not working. I could boot into Win7 but could not boot into Windows XP. When I tried to boot into Windows XP I would get a blue screen. I decided to delete the Win XP partition and copy it again, in case there had been some error during the cloning.

After copying I set the Win XP partition active. This was a mistake!

Now, the entire 3TB disk is showing as unallocated, except for the extra space that was enabled by expanded capacity management.

What are my options now? Do I have to redo my clone operation? Should I install an OS on the empty space outside the 'unallocated' space and see if I can recover from there?

Can I do a fixMBR somewhere? Thanks

I guess these forums don't get as much traffic as they used to.

Anyway I resolved the issue with disc wizard and multiple disk checks then re-cloned. Now I need help with OSS.
