Entirely removing ATI2011 (6597)

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Recent problems with TI indicate incomplete removal as the most likely reason. Quick question (trying to cut further loss of time): Is the removal procedure at http://kb.acronis.com/content/14871 to be recommended in all cases (i.e. better than removal via Add/remove programs)?

Many thanks in advance for any opinions, etc.

The cleanup utility works very well to remove ATI, I used it twice now and I didn't find remnants in the registry (I use jv16 power tools). I deleted some remaining Acronis folders that look empty with a Windows search.
My only problem is that 2 programs seem to be affected by the tool: Quicken 2011 and iDrive (another backup tool). I had to reinstall Quicken, whereas iDrive fixed itself (the windows installer showed up briefly). I tried other programs I have installed (mostly video and office software) and everything else looked OK.

Hello Pat,

Thanks very much for the feedback. Rather than go the "normal route", I will now use the utility straight away. I too use jv16 and will reinforce this with a Windows' search. I will be reinstalling ATI (and keeping a close eye on it).

Best regards,
J
