erratic backup and now stopped

Thread needs solution

I use Acronis 15 and have schedules nightly and monthly backup. Over the past few weeks the daily backups have become erratic (see file and folder attachment). I tried to do a manual backup but was denied. I reinstalled the program and am still unable to run a backup either manualy or automatically. I have also attached my system report.

Ideally I would like to automatically backup to my two established backups.

Help please

Keithinoz,

I don't see anything too weird with your backup files, other than they grew increasingly large between February 6 - 8th.  The next incremental didn't run until the 22nd, but that could be because the system was offline or something was preventing the job from running and the 2 weeks of changes could easily account for that 30GB backup.

Did you happen to revert to a system restore point, or restore a previous backup around the 6th of February?  if so, Acronis could see all of those files as "new data" and add everyting into the next few incrementals again.

If not, your backup database may very well be corrupted.  That doesn't mean your existing backups are bad though, just that ATIH may have gotten the metadata scrambled at some point and so it might be a good idea to delete the exsisting task(s), create new ones, let those run, but hold onto the old backups for awhile (or move them somewhere else)  for posterity until you're comfortable deleting them.

It does look like tings have settled down with file size again, but since you cannot manually run your backup job (what do you mean "denied" is there a specific error?"  it could be an issue.  How did you reinstall ATIH - did you do an in place repair or over the top install, or just remove from control panel?  If you want to do a clean removaly, please do this:  https://forum.acronis.com/forum/113656#comment-334624

Alternativel, before doing another removal/reinstall, you can also try a database rebuild and see if that helps at all before going the clean uninstall/reinstall route again:
