Error E000070021
I use a free copy of Personal v8 on my 3 PCs. It's part of my religion and has recovered tricky situations many times. However, I've suddenly got a new problem on my main machine. If I try to image the main C: drive, I get the above error. In a nutshell, it says that I either have bad sectors or there is another program running. I can image D: drive OK which is where almost all the programs live, and I can't see that there are any differences from the past when it ran OK. I've tried stopping everything non-essential and that doesn't help. I've run about half a dozen different scans on C: but there is no indication that there is anything awry with the disk. Then I thought, I'll be clever and run from an Acronis booting CD. It goes OK until I get to the screen called Image Archive Creation. Whatever I put into the output file name it still leaves 'NEXT' greyed out, so I'm stuck. Help!

Hello John,
Thank you for using Acronis Products
Could you please check the disks for errors?
- Go to the Command Prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd)
- Enter the command: "chkdsk DISK: /r" (where DISK is the partition letter you need to check) for every partition that is visible in My Computer. Please note, that checking the C: drive may require you to reboot the machine.
If the issue persists please install SnapAPI drivers using the following KB article

Many thanks. I ran the SnapAPI drivers update from the KB article and, hey presto, the problem vanished!
I did post another version of this problem earlier today. I apologise and hope you can delete it. The proximate reason for my doing this was that I thought this topic had become inaccessible as several attempts to open it failed. I now realise that it was the site being slow; it really is slow at times.
Best wishes
